The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), in partnership with Serena Hotels, is set to host the Chief of the Air Staff-Serena Hotels International Squash Championship from November 18 to 22 at the Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, PSF Secretary Air Commodore (R) Amir Nawaz announced that the championship boasts a prize pool of $15,000, attracting top-tier talent from across the globe.

International Players in the Spotlight

A total of 24 players will compete in the tournament, including seven Pakistani squash professionals and 17 international players hailing from various countries:

  • Belgium, Hong Kong-China, Ireland, and Netherlands: 1 player each
  • England and Kuwait: 2 players each
  • Malaysia: 4 players
  • Egypt: 5 players

The tournament’s top seed, World No. 62 Ibrahim Elkabbani from Egypt, leads the pack, with World No. 82 Noor Zaman of Pakistan seeded second. This marks a significant opportunity for local players to compete against some of the best in the world.

Amir Nawaz expressed gratitude to Serena Hotels for their continued support in promoting squash in Pakistan. “The collaboration with Serena Hotels has been instrumental in organizing this prestigious championship in the federal capital,” he remarked, adding his hopes for continued partnerships to advance the sport.

Qamar Zaman, Vice President of PSF, along with other federation officials and Serena Hotels representatives, also graced the press conference. They underscored the importance of such tournaments in reviving Pakistan’s squash legacy.
