Pakistan’s top amateur golfers are ready to make their mark at the prestigious Asian Amateur Championship, which will take place from October 3 to 6 at the Taiheiyo Golf Club in Gotemba, Japan. Organized by the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC), this championship is regarded as one of the most important stroke-play events in the region, with competitors vying for top honors across 72 holes of competition.
Leading the four-member Pakistani contingent is Numan Ilyas, the country’s No. 1 ranked amateur golfer, who has earned his spot through consistent high-level performances. Joining him in this international event are fellow golfers Hussain Hamid, Salman Jehangir, and Qasim Ali Khan. All four players are ranked among the top 100 amateurs in Asia, according to the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), and have earned their places through sheer skill and determination.
