In the ongoing Asian Hockey Champions Trophy in China, a thrilling match took place between the teams of Pakistan and India. The match began with Ahmed Nadeem scoring a goal in the 6th minute, giving Pakistan the lead. However, this lead did not last long, as in the 12th minute, India was awarded a penalty corner, which their captain, Harmanpreet Singh, successfully converted into a goal, leveling the match.
As the second quarter began, India earned another penalty corner and scored a second goal, gaining the lead over Pakistan. By halftime, India was leading 2-1. In the third quarter, Pakistan displayed excellent play, with most of the game being played in India’s half.
Pakistan earned 5 penalty corners in this quarter but failed to convert any of them into goals. The Pakistan team had to play with 10 players twice. First, when Sufyan committed a foul and had to sit out for 5 minutes, and later in the final quarter when Rana Waheed was sent off for 10 minutes due to a foul.
In the final quarter, both teams made intense efforts to score, but neither could do so. As a result, India defeated Pakistan 2-1.
It is noteworthy that India has won 5 consecutive matches in the tournament, while this was Pakistan’s first loss. Both Pakistan and India have already qualified for the semi-finals.
